The cloaked man pulls from his sleeve a tiny candle and a small bag. He mutters under his breath before twisting his hand and pointing to the floor next to Arlette. Suddenly there appears a snake, rearing up from it's coil. it lashes out at Arlette's leg.

Thankfully it still appears dazed from it's sudden appearance and misses. The magic user curses in an unknown language.

The three men, one of which must be the king, strike in unison at the one-eyed man. They all somehow miss. He strikes back at the one you all believe to be the king, but the blade is blocked by the other guard before it can strike.

Everyone, back to your turns.

Cursing under his breath at his naivety and negligence, kai pledges to never go anywhere unarmed again. Seeing the table behind him kai will move to F5 and try to push the table to block the stairs incase the two assailants try to run or get reinforcements.

Kai shows a great deal of strength in upending the table down into the staircase. Any escape attempt will be slow if not impossible, and it's extremely unlikely anyone will be able to come up the stairs.

Kull being almost in a frenzy through Ludos music and the fact a snake just appeared next to Arlette. He shoves his thoughts in the back of his head and starts stabbing the hooded man again. Hit roll1d20+7

With Kull's axe in his left hand and his own dwarven axe in his right, Grigori steps out into the hall (J10) and holds Kull's axe back towards Kai as though to do a baton pass. "Kai! You better hope the big guy doesn't mind sharing and treat this axe well!"

Seeing the action going on, Ludo wants to end this as soon as possible. Who are these people? What do they want? Why are they doing this? These are the questions he realises need answering, and they can't answer them if they're dead.

He stops playing his dramatic music, and steps forward to grab the candle at J/K6. Extinguishing it, and crushing some of the wax in his hand, Ludo casts Ghost Sound. To others, it sounds as if at the bottom of the stairs and coming up is a group of armoured knights drawing sword.

He calls down the hall to the figures, "Do you hear that? You're trapped. The back-up has arrived in the nick of time, all that's blocking them is a table we put in the way. That won't take them long! Surrender now and we won't kill you."

Shocked, but feeling brave as the snake missed her and seeing how close the snake is to the King, Arlette grabs for the snake to keep it from striking either of them.

DM please adjust my roll as necessary, possibly dexterity?
