Arlette your search revealed no additonal information or much anything of use. The books and scrolls are numerous and hold accounts of The Sword's previous activities fighting cults and putting an end to rituals. You may be able to learn more with a few weeks of study in the library.

You all retire to your chosen rooms. Grigory has Fera join him in the first room.

Grigory, sometime during the middle of the night you are woken by Fera. Brown Dog had heard a noise and is growling softly at the turn in the corridor to the entryway. Fenner, you are likewise woken by Byrne. Arlette and Kull, you are both asleep.

Arlette stirs, woken by a cool draft across her shoulders. She pulls the thick blankets up tightly around her neck and falls back into a restful sleep.

Speaking softly, "Fera, is there something wrong? Shall I go rouse the others?" Grigori then dons his armor and goes for his axe and shield.

Fenner grabs his cane and peaks out of his room trying to identify the source of the sound that caused Byrne to wake him. Noting that Arlette's door is still shut Fenner steps up next to it ready to knock in case the sound had come from her room.

Brown Dog is now barking. Arlette and Kull you are awoken.

Shortly after you've all stirred from bed, and before Fera can say anything to Grigory, there is a loud crash. Someone just tried to break down the front door.

Grigori mumbles a few curses to himself, followed by, "...greedy bastards probably want the ram back."

Arlette leaps from her bed, the heavy blankets fly off in a graceful twist as if they weighed nothing more than a feather and were possessed by dancers.

"Brown Dog!" she mutters urgently, grabs her crossbow and loads it, before quietly leaving her room, unsure of what or who lies beyond the threshold. She whistles to Brown Dog to return to safety beside her.

DM she will move silently and in the shadows to reach the others, more in an attempt to show off her skills than for practicality at this point. She will load her crossbow before she joins the others, unless this is an action that can only occur during combat. Please correct as necessary.

Everyone is now gathered, with Brown Dog at the corner of the hallway just outside of the washroom. The doors have remained locked and secure. Another loud crash against the door sends a few splinters flying. There isn't much time before the door gives way.

You guys have an opportunity here to perform any last minute actions before an encounter starts.

"Kull, Grigori, barricade the door, grab some of those chairs or a bed!" Arlette barks orders, more out of a desperate fear than any real authority.

"Fenner, Fera, help me pull a table or something here that we can shelter behind at the corner." She runs off to the dining hall hoping the others follow behind.

"Welp, you heard her Kull, let's take my bed and throw it against the door. If we can let's throw Fera's bed against there as well."

DM what rolls, if any, do you require here?
