Re: Finding the Cult
Fenner sneaking away does not go unnoticed by Arlette, his cowardice will not be easily forgiven. She pushes aside her disappointment and anger at the old man and tries to focus again on the beast destroying her companions.

Re: Finding the Cult
Kull is still enraged and starts hitting the creature with his bare fists forgetting about his weapon or his friends. For Kull there is currently only one target and it is to destroy this thing whatever it takes. He wont retreat unless there is someway to scare him so much that his instincts will force him to run or if the rage stops and his human side takes over with logic and reasoning.

Re: Finding the Cult
Fenner claws back to his feet seeing the rest of the party still engaged with the creature. He fumbles for a second trying to think of other magics he can bring to bear and coming up short looks down to see himself clutching his cane.
He stands fully and tentatively moves forward towards the creature holding his cane before him. Prior to making contact with the creature he casts Mage Armor on himself.

Re: Finding the Cult
(sorry for the delay, long-weekend, went to Canberra in the hope I can find some politicians to insult)
Arlette takes steady aim at the animated bones and shoots her crossbow again. The bolt flies wides, curving in the air slightly, one of the feathers damaged.
Grigori swings his dwarven waraxe and makes a solid connection with the lower part of the creatures midsection. As if through water, his swing continues through and upward, cutting a diagonal toward the creatures opposite shoulder. Bones crack and disintegrate as a build-up of dark energy forms in the centre of the creature, it then explodes into a cascade of bone fragments.
Girgori, Kull, Arlette, Fera and Brown Dog, will all need to make a Reflex Save against a DC of 10 or suffer 1d4-2 hitpoints of damage. Fenner because at this point you're still outside you won't need to make a saving throw.
(so Arlette, Kull, and Grigori; please all roll a Reflex Save. I will roll Brown Dog and Fera).
Brown Dog Reflex:
1d20+5
1d4-2
Fera Reflex:
1d20+4
1d4-2

Re: Finding the Cult
You all stand now, panting with the exertion from the fight. Fenner comes back into the main cavern as well.
While you may have not have stopped the ritual, you put an end to the evil magic performed here. The two bodies, who Arlette and Kull have been tracking for some time remain motionless in their coffin-like crates.
There's not much left to do here; I'm happy to assume you all return to Kalindar castle with the bodies in tow, handling them over the terrain will be difficult but not impossible.
If there's anything else you want to do here, explore some of the other tunnels for example, please let me know. In the meantime, welcome to level 2, everyone please level-up your characters in your character sheet posts. If you need help, just say so.

Re: Finding the Cult
"Well then, that was something," Grigori says as he picks the bone out of his wound,"shall we ensure no more trouble is brewing here?"
