Arlette is impressed with Kull and his idea to trade the cart for some horses, that would almost be enough horses each if they needed to ride our way out of trouble, she thought, she assumed riding a horse was as easy as riding a cart, it didn't look hard.

"we should see if we can help fix the gate" she heads off to see if she can figure out how to fix the gate, the guards would then surely owe her a favour if she came back through here in a hurry...

The gnome thinks for a moment, running the math in her head. "Throw in 75 peices of gold and you have a deal," she says.

"I think we should all proceed up to the wall," says Hilda. She is concerned that this isn't a coincidence and that the gates were sabotaged in order to slow them down.

"Start heading to the wall, I will stay with Kull and catch up. Its been a while since I've ridden a horse" Elec responds. "Don't worry there's to many people here for an ambush to work"

"Fera, you come with us, Hragg, join us if you like, perhaps they could use your strength."

You all arrive at the wall at the same time, with a horse each, except for Hilda and Hragg, who you managed to trade ponies for as you made your way up the road.

The main gate appears damaged, some of the stone work has been torn away, and burn-marks surround that area. The winches, pullies and gears that are usually used to raise and lower the portculis have been destroyed and are strewn about the ground. It will take some time to fix it.

To the side of the main gate, a foot-traffic gate is open, here people are coming and going, bustling into each other and cursing. There doesn't seem to be any order to it. This gate is wide enough for yourselves and your horses to get through.

There's a few guards standing around, leaning on their pikes. They seem generally uninterested. Who you assume to be engineers, are pointing at the different parts of the gate and writing things down, occassionally arguing with each other. An obvious wizard or sorceror stands nearby them, looking thoughtfully up at the scorched stonework near the top of the gate.

Kull looks for a short time at the sitouation then loudly calls out for the others: forget the big gate they take to long, we have to go now. he then turns the gnome and hands her 75 gold for the needed horses: till next time gnome.
he has never tried to ride a horse before but has seen other people do it so it cant be that difficult (i dont know if a check is needed).

Arlette approaches the wizard, "this looks deliberate, don't you think, friend? What happened here?"
