Hilda says to Hragg quietly, "I know she's a bit a wild-child, Hragg. But she has a good heart. Let's get this job done."

Okay guys. I am ruling that the party is now all off the wagon and in the vicinity of the logs.

Arlette and Hilda you both spot the movement of a helmet behind one of the hay piles. Before you can alert the rest of the party six figures stand with bows and crossbows drawn. At a glance, they appear to be men, except for the half-elf who speaks. He is tall and slender, wearing rust and green coloured tunic and cloak, bits of leaves are woven into a mesh that he has draped about him. The other assailents likewise wear camoflauge in the same manner.

"Come now! We can all get along. Unlucky day for your party though. We've no wish to kill anyone, so lay down your weapons, keep your hands on your head, and we'll soon be on our way."

Alright everyone, what are you each going to do?

"You're right, my friend, there is no reason for this to escalate. I'm sure we can come to a suitable arrangement. I like your clothes, that is fine seamstry, who made these for you? I was a seamstress back in Orethendine, my father was the finest artist in the land, he created the most intricate and delicate items, but this, kind sir, is a one of a kind. Such beauty, utility, finesse!"

Arlette believes they have a chance at a resolution, perhaps not completely in their favour but she doesn't want these men to harm her or her companions.

Kull lets arlette talk while he prepares himself to draw his weapon. He doesn't help to negotiate with the half elf as he usally just makes things worse. However if arlettes attempt fails he will try to intimidate them by showing of his strength and fearlessness. 1d20+1

Kull I will rule that Arlette's attempt "succeeded" because it had some success. So I won't include your intimidate roll.

"Why thank you, young miss," replies the half-elf. "Truely, we don't wish you all any harm what-so-ever. However, we do wish for your gold. Empty your pockets, all of you, throw you coins to the strapping young man there carrying the sack. Come on now!"

Hilda attempts to diffuse the situation even further. "What would your mothers think of you? Surely there's honest work for six young men such as yourselves. I'll tell you what, escort us to Lavender and I'll cook you a meal when we get there, it won't be as good as mum's cooking, but it'd be a close second."

"Oh I'm sure you're a terrific cook, shorty. But we'd still much rather the money. Hand it over please."

Arlette reaches into her skirt to gather some coins into a square of fabric. She picks a mixture of coins totalling close to 107gp. "I carry our money, here, take this, I've kept only a few silver pieces to cover our stay in the next town, please."

She only carries her money but with how easily she can come across some gold and her companions seem to lose theirs, she will save them and give her money to the men in the hope they will think it's enough and let them pass.

DM if this fails, she will then attempt to intimidate, motioning for the rest of the party to copy her posture and have them intimidate the bandits as a group.

The half-elf pauses a moment and considers Arlette's offer.

"Ha!" he looks at you all with a scornful look. "I've a feeling a group such as yourselves would have more than that."

I'll assume that everyone will take part in the group intimidation; because Arlette is the one speaking, her Intimidation check is being used. I will roll an intimidation check for each of you now. Anyone who gets a 10 or higher will give an additional +2 to Arlette's existing result of 17 (which is already pretty high).
