Kull you arrive at The Sleeping Giant just as the day is ending. A few townsfolk, mostly farmers by the look of them, are walking there as well, dirty and sweaty after a long days work.

You take note of a couple of wagons parked inside the gated yard of the inn.

Upon entry you see the place is fairly busy. You get a few odd looks, which being a half-orc you're relatively used to. You order yourself a plate of meat and ale and notice the dice game being played in the center table.

Looks like there's a merchant here, a gnomish lady, who is happy to play against the lucky Kull and lose her money.

"The game is simple," she says. "You tell me how much you're willing to wager and I'll meet you bet easily." She shakes her ample purse. "Then we take turns rolling dice, I'll let you go first. We roll three six-sided dice. You roll 3 times. The first of your roles to match one of the patterns wins, and then it's my turn, where I have to beat your pattern. If none of your three roles matches a pattern, the all I need to do is roll any pattern to win. If neither of us rolls a pattern, then we start all over again. If our best patterns are the same, then we tie and roll again."

Kull basically you roll 3d6 three times along with how much coin you bet. You need to roll up these patterns. These are in order of which patterns win over other patterns:
  1. 4, 5, 6
  2. Three of the same number, larger numbers are better
  3. Two of a kind. The third dice is the "point", higher points beat lower points (i.e. the double is meaningless, only the third dice has value)
  4. 1, 2, 3 you lose. The merchant will need to roll the same to stop you losing.
It's the first pattern you roll that is used. So if the first pattern matched is 1,2,3 then that's what the merchant is rolling against.

Place your bet, and roll your dice.

"Well, it looks like you win," she says happily, handing Kull two shiny gold pieces. "Care to place a second wager?"
