Re: Outside the Three Dancers Inn
Elec Spiders are Vermin not Animal, you still hit it. Not only that, you also rolled a critical hit, which then needs to be confirmed with a second attack roll that if it also beats the AC then you deal extra damage. This roll is your critical hit confirmation roll:

Re: Outside the Three Dancers Inn
Elec, sorry, not critical, but you still hit.
Elec's bolt hits it's mark, sticking out of the spiders body. It's followed closely by a second bolt from Arlette which also meets it's mark, sticking out just alongside the other bolt. The spider makes a screetching sound with the dual impacts.
Arlette drops her crossbow at her feet and picks up a sturdy branch from the campfire, to wield a makeshift club.
Elec and Arlette you've now made your moves this turn. You can move after the spider moves.

Arlette your new burning stick will make you suffer a -4 to your usual attack roll (it's an improvised weapon), but will instead deal an extra point of Fire Damage when you hit.

The spider strikes out at Kull but the half-orc is far to agile for the wicked legs to make contact.

The spider breaks free.
Hilda stays in position, readying an action to attack the spider should it come forward.
Hragg rushes forward and attacks with his waraxe.

Re: Outside the Three Dancers Inn
Hragg's waraxe neatly chops the spider in half. Green blood oozes out of the two sides in thick globs.
In the commotion, Landowe suddenly yells out in fright. A second spider has approached from behind, much larger than the first, it rises up on it's hind legs and attacks the merchant. It sinks it fangs into him, Landowe instantly falls unconscious, his arms and legs failing him. Another two spiders appear in the darkness.
Vision: only Kull, Hragg and Hilda can see the two spiders in the trees.
It's back to the players turn.
