Arlette fires at the same creature as before if it hasn't moved and as long as no member of the group has begun the chase and may be hit in crossfire. If the creatures are out of her range she'll want to move closer if possible.

To hit
1d20+3

Damage
1d8+1

DM I'm not sure how many actions she has on her turn and what counts as an action, so please correct/give guidance here if necessary.

Most of the party remains stationary; Hragg, Kull, and Hilda maintain their distance from the undead, protecting the wagon as the two monsters flee in what appears to be fear.

As they make their way back into the forest, Arlette leaps down from the cart and gives chase, pausing to fire. Her bolt hits one of the beasts in the back, but the bolt seems to simply thump into the flesh with no apparent effect.

From on top of the wagon Elec fires another bolt but misses.

Landowe remains hunkered down.

Friendly DM:
  • Arlette: every round you basically get a move and an attack, or two moves. So moving and attacking is fine.
  • Combat is almost over, it's basically up to you guys now to give chase or not. Hragg knows how long his turn will likely last

Hragg calls to Arlette. "Keep the wagon moving! We aren't here to kill zombies. Keep moving!"

Elec would jump down to 11:9, assuming Arlette have not returned to the wagon. he will shout to her "stop chasing them and come back, they are running, now is our chance to move" (if Arlette has came back by his turn he would remain in the wagon.)

Hilda calls to Landowe, "You can come out now, good Sir. The enemy is on the run. Are they the type of thing you were expecting?"

Kull doesnt think its worth to hunt down two rotton corpses with most likley no valuables - especially if the are is un known to him. He sheets his axe and asks what are those things ? He clearly hasnt seen anything like this before.

Arlette never would have run off after the creatures if she realised no-one else was giving chase. She sits back down next to Landowe quietly, somewhat thankful to Hragg for keeping a level head. With all the talk of danger and peril, the fantastic stories she heard from villagers in the town, she was anxiously excited at their first encounter and realised she was embarrassingly brash. She is eager to hear if Landowe, or any of the others, knew what those things were, and keeps an eye and ear on the road.

"The Trails be damned!" Landowe sighs as he falls down into the drivers seat. "There's an evil magic at work there! Not surprised they've come from the south, the Plains are a nest a evil."

"No, lass," he replies to Hilda. "We've had bandits before, the odd beast or monstrosity, goblins and other lizard things, but I've only heard tales of things like that. Yes... a powerful, evil magic. I wonder what the caster was promised in return for that power?"

Landowe clicks his tongue and sets the wagon to moving again.

Can everyone please roll a Sense Motive Check.

The group reaches the edge of the forest at the end of the day with no further incidence. Landowe declares that this is the spot to rest. There's a level spot of ground that's been cleared of rocks with a ring of stones for a campfire, clearly this is a heavily used spot. There are no other travellers here.

"Alright!" declares Landowe. "That was an interesting day! I suggest you all take turns on watch tonight, a couple hours each. We'll leave at first light."

You guys can go about whatever you want to do now until later tonight (about 12 hours from this post) when we'll continue. Feel free to talk to Landowe.

Roll Sense Motive
1d20+3

Hilda wants to spot edible things around the camp area. She's more interested in the spices in the wagon.

Roll spot
1d20+3

Also, Hilda wants to converse with Landowe about those spices from the Western Lands. She'll use them to cook with whatever she finds and whatever that she can use from the wagon.
