Re: Character creation
Okay, you've got your scores. Do you know how to go about rolling up a character, or do you need some help?

Re: Character creation
Okay. You can either read the player handbook chapters on ability scores, races and classes
Or
You can describe the character you want to play and I'll guide you through the rules bits.

Re: Character creation
Good good. Paladin is one of my favourites.
First step is to assign your dice rolls to your stats. The stats are Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom and Charisma. I'll assume you've read some of the Player's Handbook at this point.

As a Paladin:
- Strength is important because you're a melee fighter
- Dexterity isn't so important because Paladin's can wear heavy armor
- Constitution is important because you will get injured, a lot
- Intelligence is not so important for a Paladin
- Wisdom is somewhat important as it decides what spells you can cast and how many spells you can cast (Paladin's get some spells)
- Charisma is pretty important for a Paladin as it's tied into many of your abilities, like turning undead, smite evil, divine grace, lay on hands

Re: Character creation
Okay; next is your skill points. You get 2+INT x4 at 1st level, and then 2+INT at second level (you're rolling a second level character).
So, your int score is 10, which makes a modifier of +0. That means you get 8 skill points at 1st level and then 2 skill points at 2nd level. Total 10.
There are class-skills and cross-class-skills. Class skills cost 1 point to get 1 rank. Cross class cost 2 points to get 1 rank (or 1 point for a half rank that rounds down). Each rank gives you a +1 bonus when doing that skill.
The Paladin's list of skills are here http://www.d20srd.org/srd/classes/paladin.htm. Go ahead and spend your 10 skill points on whatever skills you like. Have a read about them on the SRD as well. The highest rank in a single class skill at 2nd level is 5, a cross-class skill can only be as high as 2.5.
